ConnectUNow was formed in 2011 as a solo consultancy, to service the needs of a group of Partners from Big Law who, upon starting their own firm, turned to Juan Ballar for trustworthy technology guidance. The company’s growth over the years has been organic, as satisfied clients both asked ConnectUNow to provide additional services and referred new clients. ConnectUNow provides a full complement of technology services, from consultative guidance to custom application development, system monitoring, and managed services. We are proud to combine an innovative, creative thought process and unparalleled technical knowledge with superior customer service.
Meet Some of Our Team:
With over 8 years of bringing happiness to the world, Louie is responsible for keeping the great minds at ConnectUNow in a good mood.
Juan Ballar brings his unique blend of big-picture strategy and attention to critical daily operational details to his role as Chief Technology Officer for ConnectUNow. His 16-year tenure at Paul Hastings LLP, together with his experience as Lead Engineer on projects for clients the likes of Hughes Space and Communication, Fox Studios, Cedars-Sinai Hospital, Mattel Toys, Honeywell, and KB Homes, have helped him develop the laser-like focus on customer care that earned him Paul Hastings’ first-ever Client Service Excellence Award, for efforts resulting in “a clear and significant impact on a successful outcome.” Ballar personally trains each member of the ConnectUNow team, imbuing them with his passion for exceptional service, flawless execution, and the belief that no job is too small if the client asks for it.
With a background that includes a position as Senior Systems Engineer at the global law firm of O’Melveny & Myers LLP, as well as consulting on worldwide networking projects at clients such as Hughes Space and Communication and Axiom International, Walter Urteaga’s impact as ConnectUNow’s Chief Business Officer is shaped by more than 19 years’ hands-on experience solving technology challenges. Though he holds a Computer Science degree from UCLA, Urteaga uniquely couples that formal analytical training and discipline with a creative approach to problem-solving that has led him to spearhead development of some of the most innovative yet reliable products in the marketplace.
Scott Fullmer’s dedication to rooting out the cause of system problems is integral to ConnectUNow’s service-oriented reputation, and he has been deeply involved with many key initiatives in his four years with the company. Fullmer is known for above-and-beyond responsiveness to technical issues, and his positive and respectful attitude makes him successful with even the most demanding of clients.
Sandra Sanchez’s background as an administrator and small business owner was an ideal fit for ConnectUNow when the administrative demands of the growing company became overwhelming. Sanchez keeps the company humming, by handling all its administration, from HR to accounting to insurance, and everything in between.
Primary support for ConnectUNow’s Managed Services and Email2Print clients is provided by Andrew Diaz. Though IT began as a hobby for him, when the hobby became his passion, Diaz earned CompTIA’s A+ certification in order to pursue IT as a career. He hit the ground running at the company, and clients prize him for his hard work and willingness to be a team player.
Testing ConnectUNow’s Email2Print software, imaging PCs, and other entry-level tasks are providing Beatriz Ruiz with the practical experience she’ll need to pursue a career in IT. Her openness to pitch in anywhere needed is a perfect fit with our service-centric philosophy. Ruiz is studying computer science at California State University Los Angeles, and ConnectUNow is proud to help increase the ranks of women in IT.
ConnectUNow’s vision is to provide our clients a premier IT professional services experience and cost-effective solutions.
ConnectUNow’s philosophy is establishing a partnership with our clients in all aspects of IT professional services regardless of project or company size.
The trust between business partners is a key element to a positive relationship.

The New Story Building
This 1909 Beaux Arts building was built by Walter Perry Story on a lot his father had purchased in 1895. Story Sr., a successful Montana cattleman and the first person to drive cattle along the Bozeman Trail from Texas to Montana, also financed one half of the building’s million-dollar construction.
Walter Story went on to become a successful businessman, civic leader, and Major General in the California National Guard. The first three stories and the basement of the building were initially designed for retail, and the upscale clothier Mullen and Bluett occupied the space from 1910 through the 1960s. Walter P. Story and his wife lived in the penthouse.
The building now houses offices and jewelry businesses. The lobby, with its compact marble staircase, wide banisters and two story newel posts, is clad in lightly-veined white marble, and features a Tiffany-style stained glass skylight.
ConnectUNow moved from the financial district of Downtown LA to the dynamic energy of the historic core in January 2016. We are excited to be in our new location and look forward to what the historic core district is becoming.
